About the role

  • Perform Protection Calculations and Coordination to protect the grid
  • Maintain Relay Database for Midwest Relay assets and settings
  • Support compliance activities related to relay setting and coordination
  • Interface with Relay Technicians to support install and commissioning of settings
  • Conduct engineering and related studies; expected to engage in frequent working group phone calls and face-to-face meetings to coordinate and implement changes as a result of fleet and recognize industry best practices
  • Strives to continually improve job-related, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance
  • Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Maintains accurate records and files
  • Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally

Requirements

  • Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • A Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B. S. engineering degree for Engineer III
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience for Engineer III
  • Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or state registration as a Professional Engineer for Senior Engineer
  • A Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree for Senior Engineer
  • Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer for Senior Engineer
  • Travel may be needed for face-to-face interactions with engineering and relay field personnel
