Senior Engineer – Transmission P&C Protection Settings

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform Protection Calculations and Coordination to protect the grid
- Maintain Relay Database for Midwest Relay assets and settings
- Support compliance activities related to relay setting and coordination
- Interface with Relay Technicians to support install and commissioning of settings
- Conduct engineering and related studies; expected to engage in frequent working group phone calls and face-to-face meetings to coordinate and implement changes as a result of fleet and recognize industry best practices
- Strives to continually improve job-related, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance
- Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills
- Maintains accurate records and files
- Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- A Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B. S. engineering degree for Engineer III
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience for Engineer III
- Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or state registration as a Professional Engineer for Senior Engineer
- A Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree for Senior Engineer
- Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer for Senior Engineer
- Travel may be needed for face-to-face interactions with engineering and relay field personnel
