Engineer III – Electrical, I&C Engineer

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems of increasing scope and complexity
- Supports troubleshooting, evaluates equipment degradation issues, coordinates component reliability improvements, and employs Preventive Maintenance (PM), Condition-Based Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance techniques
- Provides tactical support for the day-to-day maintenance of the plant and is the designated owner for assigned systems
- Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities
- Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence and documentation
- Conducts engineering and equipment related investigations with full technical responsibility for planning and coordinating problem resolution
- Provides equipment technical support for Operability Determinations and supports review of Operations and Maintenance procedures
- Demonstrates ability to analyze and recommend enhancements to business processes and develops standards relevant to area of assignment
- Keeps abreast of new developments, technologies procedures and equipment
- Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities
- Maintains accurate records and files
- Coaches and mentors other engineering and non-degreed engineering professionals
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- A Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- 4-6 years of engineering experience for Engineer III
- Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience, OR 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer for Senior Engineer
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering desired
- Registration as a Professional Engineer desired
- Experience in control systems equipment including analog instrumentation, PLCs, DCS, etc.
- Experience with control systems equipment troubleshooting, testing procedures, requirements, methodologies and sequencing.
- Experience with process instrumentation troubleshooting, testing procedures, requirements, methodologies and sequencing.
- Knowledgeable of fluid processes, instrument measuring technologies, installation practices, etc.
- Skilled in engineering theories and principles.
- Skilled in the practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations.
- Experience in electrical power areas: Low, Medium, and/or High Voltage systems and components
- Experience in electrical protective relaying and associated components
- Ability to achieve Unescorted Access/Security clearance
