About the role

  • Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems of increasing scope and complexity
  • Supports troubleshooting, evaluates equipment degradation issues, coordinates component reliability improvements, and employs Preventive Maintenance (PM), Condition-Based Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance techniques
  • Provides tactical support for the day-to-day maintenance of the plant and is the designated owner for assigned systems
  • Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities
  • Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence and documentation
  • Conducts engineering and equipment related investigations with full technical responsibility for planning and coordinating problem resolution
  • Provides equipment technical support for Operability Determinations and supports review of Operations and Maintenance procedures
  • Demonstrates ability to analyze and recommend enhancements to business processes and develops standards relevant to area of assignment
  • Keeps abreast of new developments, technologies procedures and equipment
  • Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities
  • Maintains accurate records and files
  • Coaches and mentors other engineering and non-degreed engineering professionals

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • A Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • 4-6 years of engineering experience for Engineer III
  • Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience, OR 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer for Senior Engineer
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering desired
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer desired
  • Experience in control systems equipment including analog instrumentation, PLCs, DCS, etc.
  • Experience with control systems equipment troubleshooting, testing procedures, requirements, methodologies and sequencing.
  • Experience with process instrumentation troubleshooting, testing procedures, requirements, methodologies and sequencing.
  • Knowledgeable of fluid processes, instrument measuring technologies, installation practices, etc.
  • Skilled in engineering theories and principles.
  • Skilled in the practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations.
  • Experience in electrical power areas: Low, Medium, and/or High Voltage systems and components
  • Experience in electrical protective relaying and associated components
  • Ability to achieve Unescorted Access/Security clearance
