About the role

  • Serve as the site subject matter expert for the assigned electrical/controls systems
  • Monitor and trend system/component performance
  • Interfacing with external vendors to ensure technical issues are properly resolved
  • Direct onsite testing and troubleshooting activities for emergent issues
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with other departments to address system concerns, schedules, budgeting, and related issues
  • Ensure regulatory compliance is maintained
  • Evaluate Fleet Operating Experience and industry learnings to improve Equipment Reliability
  • Evaluate preventative maintenance (PM) program performance and recommend adjustments
  • Maintain the configuration of DCS, SCADA, and PLC systems for safe and reliable operation of power stations
  • Develop scope, technical basis, and testing requirements for engineering design changes
  • Manage external control system vendor support as a single point of contact
  • Assist with electrical/control system challenges and needs
  • Coordinate with cyber security specialists for necessary patching and database management
  • Manage control/electrical system vendor contracts, including support and maintenance

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • A Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. engineering degree
  • Minimum 2 years related work experience for Engineer II
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience for Engineer III
  • Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles
  • Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
  • Passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam
  • Department specific experience applicable to the hiring department
  • Experience in the utility industry
