About the role
- Provides engineering/technical leadership and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems across project phases.
- Manages technical consultants and contingent labor to meet team demands.
- Leads PMC project\'s engineering aspects across development through turnover; ensures scope, schedule, cost, quality, environmental, safety, communications, security, and integration.
- Works under general direction of a Project Director or Senior PM; acts as technical conscience throughout project execution.
- Responsible for portfolio of projects with Low to Moderate risk for Engineer III; Senior with Moderate to High risk, involving multiple vendors and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program OR state registration as a Professional Engineer; Master’s degree can be considered in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree.
- Engineer III: Minimum 4 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Senior Engineer: Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience with PE OR Minimum 6 years of relevant engineering experience without PE.
- Willingness to travel; Total travel approaching 50% (2–3 days per week).
- Hybrid work arrangement with frequent travel to project sites and Duke Energy facilities.
