Support programmatic strategies for the RRE department including components of financial analysis, technical evaluation and operational impacts
Identify opportunities for fleet improvement and develop solutions with cross-functional teams
Implement approved solutions by Senior Leadership
Conduct analysis and assess design program details
Provide technical leadership, regulatory guidance, and strategic planning
Prepare complex reports and presentations
Lead the governance, oversight, and compliance with NERC reliability standards
Develop and maintain expert knowledge of dynamic models and data for the generation fleet
Interface with internal/external stakeholders regarding compliance and verification issues
Manage and develop business relationships with vendors and OEMs
Coordinate support for RRE stations during audits and assessments
Requirements
6 Years of related work experience
Bachelor's Degree
In Lieu of Degree and 6 years related experience - HS Diploma / GED and 10 years related work experience
8 Years of related work experience
In Lieu of Degree and 8 years related experience - HS Diploma / GED and 14 years related work experience
10 Years of related work experience
In Lieu of Degree and 10 years related experience - HS Diploma / GED and 18 years related work experience
Extensive and thorough knowledge of excitation systems from various OEMs
Experience with verification and validation of dynamic models and data reporting
Experience with Power System Simulation and Modeling software e.g. PSS/E, PSCAD, PPPD
Experience with field testing and commissioning excitation systems
Experience in performance of activities and creating Generator Owner deliverables for compliance with NERC MOD-026
Motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to create complex technical reports on analytic findings and provide briefings to various levels of staff / management
Innovative – ability to recognize and seek improvement and efficiency opportunities
Demonstrated ability to work in high pressure situations and within a team environment
Demonstrated effective problem solving & analytical skills
