About the role

Engineering Technologist III or Senior Engineering Technologist position in Sandhills (NC) area within the Triangle South Zone.
Assigned to support Substation Optimization, System Capacity, Maintain, Highway DOT Relocation, and various Major Projects.
Location: Aberdeen, NC – Southern Pines Operation Center (Chatham County, Asheboro, Rockingham and Sanford possible).
Level depends on qualifications: Technologist III (third level) or Senior (fourth level).
Technologist III: provides technical expertise, oversight, works with some supervision, develops advanced skills.
Senior: provides technical expertise, manages work with minimal supervision, works independently with increased latitude.
Responsibilities include planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, monitoring work activities, preparing technical reports, conducting studies, emergency/storm support.
Working Conditions: Hybrid – remote and onsite after onboarding; must live within reasonable commute to designated facility.
Travel Requirements 5-15%.

Provides deep technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems in area of expertise.
Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities.
Independently prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches.
Conducts engineering and related studies.
Work storms at the operation center, zone, Carolinas, Florida, Midwest, and off system if needed.
May have to travel and assist with jobs in Area 262 (Henderson, Roxboro, and Zebulon) due to the workload.
