About the role
- Support the University Control Systems including: facility control systems, central plant control systems, third-party systems, and SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) systems
- Responsibilities include overall system design, performance monitoring, reliability implementation, evaluating network infrastructure, coordination with Duke’s office of internet technology (OIT), programming, project design and execution, procedure development, training, problem solving, cost estimating, and system documentation
- Ensure a smooth operation of all utility control and monitoring systems in order to provide maximum performance, consistency, and reliability of the systems
Requirements
- B.S. degree (ME, EE, or equivalent) and 5 years’ experience or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience skills preferred
- Associate degree (HVAC, Electronics, or equivalent) and 8 years’ experience or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience skills
- Working knowledge of supervisory controls and SCADA systems
- Proficiency with Siemens Apogee controls and programming a plus
- Proficiency with Iconics controls and programming a plus
- Working knowledge or DDC/SCADA graphics development and database integration
- Experience in the controls and instrumentation for multi-use facilities central plant systems
- Proficient in Windows client/server and Windows PC environments
- Ability to analyze existing controls systems with applicable monitoring equipment to troubleshoot and resolve problems
- Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
