drive the development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-wide data strategies that support Duke University’s missions in clinical care, research, and education
gather and analyze data, prepare reports and visualizations to drive business analytics, and assist with the development and maintenance of internal dashboards
oversee data governance, business intelligence, and analytics initiatives across the School of Medicine and Duke University Health System
advise executive leadership, foster data-driven decision-making, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance data infrastructure, integration, and innovation

Requirements

Master’s degree preferred
CPA is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in analytics, statistics, computer science, public health, or related technical fields
10+ years of progressive experience in data analytics, BI, or governance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
Experience in full-lifecycle development processes related to data modeling/warehousing, business intelligence, and application development in an academic environment
Strong analytical background working with relational databases
Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
Working knowledge of SQL and experience with other querying languages (SAS, Python, R)
Familiarity with Duke-specific systems and data platforms like SAP, BW, SPS, WebCentral/Archibus, highly desired
Familiarity with higher education or healthcare data systems.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage strategic projects.
