About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Negotiate, sign and close catalog acquisition agreements with artists, singer-songwriters and other music creators
Collaborate with A&R, Underwriting, Legal, Finance, Sourcing Operations teams and management to drive acquisitions
Identify, negotiate and execute catalog acquisition transactions with artists, managers and representatives
Manage end-to-end operations and maintain a healthy acquisitions pipeline through data analysis and opportunity generation
Participate in decisions with Underwriting and Legal teams, ensure completeness and accuracy of documentation, and support the Investment Committee
Design solutions to resolve rights acquisition challenges and optimize processes
Develop and maintain relationships with artists, managers and industry stakeholders
Assist the A&R team in achieving ambitious goals in a demanding startup environment
Track key deal points and communications in HubSpot, Airtable and Notion
Monitor the music industry, market strategies, competitive trends and innovations in music fintech

Requirements

What you’ll need

1 to 2 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, finance, professional services or a similar role
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret and manipulate complex and unstructured data
Good understanding of the music industry and complex deal structures
Experience in evaluating opportunities and risks, negotiations and due diligence
Ability to read quickly and summarize contracts and legal agreements
High attention to detail, strong work ethic, autonomy, proactivity and solution orientation
Passion for music and the creative industries
