About the role
- own DuckDuckGo's external communications strategy
- define what DuckDuckGo says and where to say it
- develop an integrated strategy that ties earned media, social, owned content, partnerships
- drive cross-functional coordination with product, engineering, marketing and corporate leadership
- advise tactical projects, clear bottlenecks, ensure the communications function runs with high throughput
- evolve processes, playbooks, and templates to make the team more efficient
Requirements
- 10+ years of communications experience with 5+ years in leadership positions at consumer-facing tech companies
- expert level skills around the full communications playbook
- operate with a high degree of independence
- excellent written communication skills
- deep social and digital fluency
- experience translating technical products into compelling mainstream narratives
- a sharp instinct for cultural relevance
- experience building and mobilizing communities of advocates
- experience positioning a CEO or senior leader as a thought leader
- strong press instincts and narrative development skills
- highly organized with a track record of managing complex plans
- fluency in defining meaningful KPIs
