About the role

  • Further develop the cloud-based data platform for Business Intelligence, Digital Analytics, Marketing Controlling and Data Science
  • Design, implement and ensure the stable operation of complex data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
  • Technically integrate new data sources and implement robust mechanisms for data quality and monitoring
  • Implement requirements from analytics and business teams in a performant and scalable manner
  • Evaluate technology options, develop prototypes and support architecture decisions with sound technical input
  • Work independently on prototype projects to implement technology decisions
  • Collaborate across teams with analysts, developers and other stakeholders

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) and proven experience in a comparable position
  • Familiar with modern, agile and object-oriented software development in Python, and comfortable with both object-oriented and functional programming paradigms
  • Experienced in modeling data structures and developing scalable ETL/ELT processes
  • Ideally proficient in SQL and modern database systems (e.g., Exasol, Google BigQuery)
  • Experienced with cloud environments such as Google Cloud Platform or Azure (e.g., Azure Synapse)
  • Preferably familiar with workflow and pipeline orchestration (e.g., Apache Airflow)
  • Able to clearly justify technical decisions, share knowledge and advance the technical quality of the team
  • Curious, proactive and willing to quickly learn new technologies
