About the role
- provide health, safety, and environmental leadership
- drive, maintain and improve operational Health, Safety, and Environmental processes
- provide data-based direction for improvement
- build capabilities and a learning culture together with the site leadership team
- be a well-rounded HSE solution partner in protecting our people, the environment, and our assets
- ensure the local HSE management system meets Firmenich standards, ISO standards, and all relevant regulatory requirements
- develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the site operations
- ensure key risks are well-understood and mitigated through the site Management System and action plans
- lead local internal audit programs
- maintain and improve ISO 14k and 45k standards
Requirements
- A four-year degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field
- 5 - 10 years of experience in HSE in a manufacturing environment
- Industry certifications such as ASP, CSP, CHMM a plus
- Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Familiar with root cause and risk assessment methodologies
- Strong influential and communication skills, written and verbal
- Working knowledge and understanding of HSE regulations and ISO management systems and principles including but not limited to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- High proficiency with standard office programs such as MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to manipulate, analyze, and summarize data to provide key insights and develop strategic and tactical plans
