About the role
- Lead a team of 5-7 engineers in the Persistent Systems Organization developing and managing Dropbox's primary online metadata storage system
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enable rapid feature and product development
- Grow and develop an incredible team of hardworking and motivated engineers with high expectations around individual ownership and impact
- Develop a healthy and collaborative culture that embodies Dropbox's values
- Ensure the team delivers extraordinary output and seeks ways to make an outsized impact
- Set direction for the team and anticipate strategic and scaling-related challenges via thoughtful long-term planning
- Help craft technical and product strategy
- Participate in and manage on-call rotations for services in production where applicable
Requirements
- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent technical experience
- Minimum of 10 years of industry experience as a software developer, including 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams as an Engineering Manager
- Experience managing teams supporting and operating services in production
