About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work alongside experienced professionals on real-world software engineering challenges and solutions impacting millions of users
- Ship a high-priority project from start to finish, contributing to mission-critical software development
- Use AI tools such as Copilot to improve productivity and code quality
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, develop and deploy next-generation Dropbox product features
- Participate in rapid prototyping, iterative development and structured feedback
- Design user-centric, usable and intuitive solutions
- Participate in tech talks and professional development workshops
- Participate in team matching based on interests, strengths, business needs and location
- Build software across potential teams including Product Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Customer Experience Technology, Mobile Engineering and Security Engineering
- Receive mentorship, guidance and continuous feedback throughout the internship
Requirements
What you’ll need- Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding, such as physics or mathematics
- Graduating in Fall/Winter 2027 or Spring 2028; this should be the final internship before graduating
- Experience writing or shipping software through coursework, personal projects, internships, coding competitions or research
- Experience coding in Python, Go, JavaScript or similar programming languages
- Available for a Summer 2027 full-time internship, 40 hours per week for 12 weeks
- Must work from the designated primary work location throughout the internship; requests to work from another location, including another country, require advance approval and may be restricted by company, legal, payroll or security requirements
