Key responsibilities & impact
  • Directly leads and develops a team of controls professionals
  • Developing and executing a controls strategy and roadmap aligned to business risk
  • Own the design, documentation, and execution of scalable process controls
  • Acting as an AI Partner by leading the build and implementation of automated controls
  • Partnering across teams to deliver innovative risk solutions
  • Serving as a key 1st Line Controls leader, collaborating with Compliance and Legal
  • Designing controls that align with regulatory requirements
  • Partnering with Data Analytics teams for control monitoring and reporting
  • Proactively anticipating internal control risks and advising leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of applicable experience in process controls, risk management, compliance, or a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Operational Control Design experience required
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable leading special projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SQL experience is a plus
  • Experience in financial services required, auto finance highly desirable
  • Nice to Have: BPM, Lean, or Six Sigma certification
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as UDAAP, SCRA, FCRA, and related regulations
  • Experience assessing automated business process controls
  • Exposure to AI-enabled reporting, automation, or analytics within risk or controls environments
