About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, and enhance engineering solutions for challenging problems
  • Implement and test solutions, perform analysis, and provide documentation support
  • Generate and present test reports with plots, tables, evaluation criteria, and conclusions
  • Complete assignments developing practical knowledge of engineering processes, procedures, equipment, facilities, systems, and their interrelationships
  • Create detailed designs using 3-D CAD software
  • Analyze system performance through simulations using finite element software
  • Apply design considerations for manufacturability, drawing creation, tolerancing, and structural or thermal performance
  • Work with machine shop, rapid prototyping, circuit card assembly, materials characterization, and metrology facilities
  • Work on live programs according to immediate program priorities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Enrolled in an accredited full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments, risks, and vulnerabilities
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience or ability to create designs using SolidWorks and/or PTC Creo
  • Ability to use finite element software such as Ansys for simulations
  • Applicants selected may be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
