Support web application development for the ZMS fire department management software
Create anonymized or pseudonymized test data from production data, or generate data from scratch using a DSL to be developed
Introduce API integration tests for the new REST API
Evaluate and build a prototype BI tool to analyze existing raw data
Evaluate and create a prototype Excel report based on raw data
Option to work remotely/mobile, depending on the department’s needs and the internship tasks

Requirements

Enrolled in a Computer Science or Software Engineering degree (at least 4th semester) or a comparable program
Ideally initial knowledge of object-oriented programming in Java or Python
Ideally initial knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL)
Ideally initial knowledge of REST APIs (REST, HTTP protocol, etc.)
Ideally basic experience in Data Science or a strong interest in becoming a Data Scientist
Ideally basic Excel skills (preparing raw data in Excel via e.g., C# or similar)
Good English skills are desirable
Independent and solution-oriented working style with commitment to implementing your own ideas
