About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will be responsible for two squads.
You will support the Software Engineers, the Lead Software Engineer and the Product Designer within your area.
You will manage their career plans, annual reviews, HR-related issues, recruitment for your teams and the day-to-day contingencies.
You are responsible for ensuring the team has the resources and processes in place to reach its objectives.
You will monitor the progress of shapes, facilitate workshops and rituals, help teams use Shape Up effectively, and ensure run activities are carried out (maintenance, bugs, emergencies).
You will act as the interface within the domain and with other domains at Dougs.

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 2 years of proven experience as an Engineering Manager or in directly managing a technical team.
A background as a developer is a strong plus to better understand your teams' daily challenges.
You have natural leadership, are curious, and enjoy gaining deep understanding of what your teams do to better support them.
You are recognized for excellent communication and your ability to facilitate work: your goal is to provide your team with the best possible conditions for success.
