About the role

Perform deep investigation of technical issues with the dotCMS product, platform, and code base
Deliver solutions to a wide range of customer issues and build working sample code and examples
Interact directly with clients via the support ticketing system and occasionally schedule video meetings
Reproduce customer-reported issues and isolate issues in configuration, implementation, and/or dotCMS code
Analyze and debug Java, JavaScript, and Apache Velocity code
Submit bug reports, enhancement requests, and suggested bug fixes
Provide feedback to R&D, documentation, and customer success on issues & resolutions
Participate in daily support stand-ups and regular development team meetings
Take part in rotating pager duty shifts to provide off-hours support for critical customer issues
Contribute to other support-related technical and development projects as requested

2+ years of Java development experience
2+ years experience with web technologies including HTML and CSS; SCSS a plus
2+ years with front-end or back-end scripting languages; JavaScript and Apache Velocity a plus
Proven and demonstrable analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to speak and write English fluently
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a technical field
Participate in on-call rotation and rotating pager duty shifts (off-hours support)
Availability to work 3:00 PM to Midnight local time (UTC+05:00) with a one-hour break
Must be able to work on-site in Karachi and currently unable to sponsor employment visas
Desirable: Relational database administration; PostgreSQL a plus
Desirable: Developing on Linux; AWS Linux a plus
Desirable: Working with/within Docker containers; Kubernetes a plus
Desirable: Administrating cloud-hosted environments; AWS a plus
Desirable: Professional use of Version Control Systems; GitHub and Zenhub a plus
Desirable: Implementing JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as jQuery, Angular, React, and Next.js
