About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in coordinating with outside counsel on litigation strategy, discovery, motion practice, and case management.
- Conduct legal research and prepare analysis related to IP disputes and enforcement matters.
- Help evaluate potential infringement matters and support the development of enforcement strategies.
- Draft and respond to cease-and-desist letters and other pre-litigation communications.
- Assist with fact gathering, witness preparation, and internal investigations related to IP disputes.
- Monitor ongoing litigation matters and provide status updates to internal stakeholders.
- Support dispute resolution efforts, including settlement discussions, mediations, and other pre-trial activities.
- Advise business teams on intellectual property issues affecting products, marketing initiatives, and commercial activities.
- Draft, review, and negotiate intellectual property-related agreements, including confidentiality agreements, license agreements, technology agreements, and other commercial contracts involving IP rights.
- Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and in-house counsel to support the protection and enforcement of company IP assets.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of experience as a practicing attorney
- Top law firm experience and strong academic credentials required
- In-house or corporate experience preferred but not required
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Active bar membership in good standing in Georgia, Minnesota, or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.
