About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervising, developing, and supporting Property Accountants, Senior Accountants, and Accounting Supervisors.
  • Leading accountability standards and staff development within the Property Accounting Team.
  • Assisting with the review and distribution of monthly financial statements.
  • Establishing and monitoring departmental policies and procedures.
  • Improving quality and efficiency through problem-solving efforts.
  • Leading communications with other departments for collaborative solutions.
  • Understanding stakeholder needs to maintain timely processes throughout the year.
  • Updating Audit/Tax Return Package schedules and assisting with year-end closing procedures.
  • Coordinating monthly Property Accounting meetings and leading special projects as directed.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • 4+ years related experience, 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Intermediate-advanced skills in Excel, intermediate skills in Word, PowerPoint.
  • Yardi experience highly preferred.
  • Able to work independently with strong problem solving and analytic skills.
  • Strong written, oral, communication and presentation skills required.
  • Advanced Mathematical skills needed.
  • Good understanding of GAAP accounting requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills characterized by effective interactions with a diverse range of internal and external constituents.
