About the role
- Replenish wines within the wine cellar and restaurant
- Serve and recommend wines to guests
- Develop food and wine pairings
- Support fine-dining service at MAKRIS Athens by Domes
Requirements
- Degree, MBA or master’s degree in a related field will be considered an asset
- Certification as a sommelier is beneficial (WSET or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years experience in a relevant position at a high end a la carte restaurant
- Knowledge of local vineyards and wineries
- Excellent knowledge of the English language, a second or third language will be considered a plus
- Excellent communication skills with a very strong customer-focused approach
- Hands-on approach, positive attitude and flexibility
- Cost-conscious and able to maximize revenue
