About the role
- Manage and develop accounting team to scale with the needs of our rapidly growing business
- Oversee and improve all accounting processes (A/P, revenue, inventory, fixed assets, payroll, etc.)
- Leverage (and if necessary implement) systems to support efficient processes
- Coordinate and own efficient financial close processes
- Manage outside audit firm(s), banks and lessors, casualty/liability insurance agent(s) and credit card companies
- Maintain a strong understanding of our cash flows; be the gate keeper for unusual activity and unneeded expense
- Refine company operating procedures as they relate to finance; implement company wide controls
- Review vendor contracts and agreements
- Help coordinate company financial planning and budget management
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or related Business
- CPA certification strongly preferred
- 7+ years accounting experience
- Experience in public accounting, retail industry and growth stage startups (IPO) a big plus
- Prior experience managing and leading staff
- Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Experience implementing internal controls and running audits
- NetSuite proficiency a strong plus
