About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
Help customers and address questions or concerns
Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor
Maintain seasonal areas, sales floor, stockroom, and store-front fixtures and displays
Perform opening and closing procedures
Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
Assist with ordering merchandise and processing damaged merchandise
Maintain payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts, and loss prevention records
Protect and secure company assets and store cash
Enforce safety guidelines and company policies and procedures
Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
Maintain a positive, safe, respectful, professional, and friendly environment
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping areas presentable
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required
Store management experience in a retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred
Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height
Ability to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required
Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required
May be required to provide detailed background information to obtain local licenses for stores selling alcohol and/or tobacco
