Assistant Manager

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
- Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns
- Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed
- Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
- Process all corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information requests
- Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays
- Assist in ordering merchandise and processing damaged merchandise
- Handle record keeping including payroll, scheduling, and cash register deposits and receipts
- Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
- Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines
- Help supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the store
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred
- Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required
- Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment required
- Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required
