About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and oversee operations of multiple ready-mix plants, mixer drivers, and sales
  • Perform daily equipment and site inspections and correct unsafe conditions
  • Ensure equipment maintenance and safe, proper operation of ready-mix plants
  • Conduct required daily/weekly catwalk conversation meetings
  • Ensure appropriate materials are used to produce quality concrete to job specifications
  • Communicate with quality control personnel and adjust material blends as required
  • Lead plant personnel and coordinate with dispatch to schedule drivers
  • Monitor plant sites for safe and efficient traffic flow
  • Complete company reports and other documentation
  • Develop relationships with current and potential clients
  • Identify new markets, target accounts, and prospects
  • Follow up on leads and create new customers through cold calling and relationship building
  • Present verbal quotes and review proposals and pricing with team members and clients
  • Identify and resolve client concerns and issues
  • Act as job or project manager when necessary
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars and trade shows
  • Manage the sales process from initial sale through service and collection of funds
  • Maintain regular, reliable attendance at the worksite or assigned work location
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Concrete technical knowledge strongly preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of local and rural geographic areas
  • Must maintain a minimum Class B CDL with air brakes
  • Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations
  • Excellent verbal, written, and comprehension communication skills
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Maintain good safety and driving records
  • Self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment
  • Positive attitude that fosters effective relationships
  • Ability to understand and adhere to position safety requirements
  • Willingness to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as required
  • Ability to work near, around, or on light or heavy equipment
  • Ability to lift objects up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to repeatedly climb stairs and ladders at elevated heights
  • Ability to repeatedly balance, bend, crawl, kneel, push, and pull objects
  • Ability to tolerate outdoor work in all environmental temperatures and weather
  • Ability to repeatedly reach, squat, and tolerate prolonged standing, walking, or sitting
