About the role
- Play a pivotal role shaping clinical AI solutions for the Department of Veteran Affairs using Python.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced AI and ML models and algorithms.
- Create AI solutions integrated into Department of Veteran Affairs software systems ensuring scalability, reliability, security, accessibility, and performance.
- Supervisory W2 role with responsibility to mentor engineers and interact with clients.
- Design and build machine learning models that achieve business objectives.
- Lead and mentor a team of AI engineers in developing cutting-edge AI applications.
- Collaborate with product managers, UX researchers/designers, and stakeholders to define AI project requirements.
- Research and evaluate new AI technologies and methodologies for implementation.
- Optimize AI models for performance and efficiency.
- Present technical concepts and project updates to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure best practices and coding standards are maintained throughout development.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering or related fields.
- 10+ years of experience in full-stack engineering.
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams and managing AI projects.
- Strong knowledge of data science principles, algorithms, and statistical analysis.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for deploying AI models.
- Experience supervising team members and developing and conducting performance reviews.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a federal 'public trust' security clearance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar field; Master's Degree preferable.
