About the role

Play a pivotal role shaping clinical AI solutions for the Department of Veteran Affairs using Python.
Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced AI and ML models and algorithms.
Create AI solutions integrated into Department of Veteran Affairs software systems ensuring scalability, reliability, security, accessibility, and performance.
Supervisory W2 role with responsibility to mentor engineers and interact with clients.
Design and build machine learning models that achieve business objectives.
Lead and mentor a team of AI engineers in developing cutting-edge AI applications.
Collaborate with product managers, UX researchers/designers, and stakeholders to define AI project requirements.
Research and evaluate new AI technologies and methodologies for implementation.
Optimize AI models for performance and efficiency.
Present technical concepts and project updates to non-technical stakeholders.
Ensure best practices and coding standards are maintained throughout development.

5+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering or related fields.
10+ years of experience in full-stack engineering.
Demonstrated experience in leading teams and managing AI projects.
Strong knowledge of data science principles, algorithms, and statistical analysis.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for deploying AI models.
Experience supervising team members and developing and conducting performance reviews.
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a federal 'public trust' security clearance.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar field; Master's Degree preferable.
