About the role
- Manage 5+ software engineers on one of our product engineering scrum teams
- Manage product backlog and deliveries of your team in a lean agile environment
- Be a technical leader within your team and at DNSFilter as a whole
- Collaborate with other engineering managers and leaders to ensure delivery of new features and enhancements
- Provide the team with coaching, training, opportunities to learn and develop, and consistently deliver feedback on performance
- Tackle additional tasks outside of your core specialization in order to meet team’s commitments
- Participate in interviews
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience leading teams working on different areas of an application (on prem solutions, cloud based, OS specific software development)
- You have a strong knowledge of Windows and Mac developments, as well as iOS and Android
- Proven experience as a technical leader managing developers
- A strong understanding of Agile development, specifically Scrum and Kanban
- Excellent ability to translate business strategy and product requirements into a technical roadmap and engineering deliverables
- Demonstrated experience in hiring, coaching, and developing engineering talent
- The ability to breakdown complex technical problems into manageable tasks
- You are comfortable communicating across departments, and tackling complex projects with your peers
- You have a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Able to plan/triage/manage/track teams work in JIRA
- Ability to keep work hours overlap within EST timezone
- Must be eligible to work in the US or Canada without sponsorship from an employer now or in the future
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar field or extensive experience in the software industry
