About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy features and enhancements across front-end (ReactJS) and back-end (Python/FastAPI) layers.
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs using FastAPI with proper validation, error handling, versioning, and OpenAPI documentation.
  • Develop responsive, accessible front-end interfaces using ReactJS in adherence to Section 508 accessibility requirements.
  • Implement and manage data models, queries, migrations, and stored procedures in PostgreSQL.
  • Operate within a trunk-based development workflow; commit small incremental changes frequently and use short-lived feature branches and feature flags.
  • Package applications using Docker; support deployment of containerized workloads to AWS environments.
  • Write and maintain automated unit, integration, and regression tests using pytest, Jest, and React Testing Library.
  • Maintain technical documentation, including API docs, data model diagrams, architecture decision records, and developer guides.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Python, FastAPI, ReactJS, PostgreSQL, and Docker.
  • Sufficient familiarity with AWS cloud services to deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot cloud-hosted applications.
  • 3+ years of full-stack software development experience in a collaborative, team-based engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline concepts and IaC tooling such as Terraform and GitHub Actions.
  • Experience developing applications in a federal or regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with Section 508 web accessibility standards.
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain and complete a government security screening and/or a Secret security clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
