About the role

  • Provide authoritative guidance on complex enterprise architecture decisions
  • Advise TSA CIO leadership and engineering teams on architecture patterns, technology selection, integration approaches, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Ensure all engineering architectures are technically sound, operationally resilient, and aligned with DHS and TSA security and performance standards
  • Provide technical review and approval authority for major system designs
  • Lead architecture boards and technical working groups
  • Resolve high-stakes engineering conflicts between project teams, O&M contractors, and TSA stakeholders
  • Apply expertise across TSA’s IT domains, including cloud computing, cybersecurity architecture, data operations, and operational technology
  • Provide critical input to the evaluation of emerging technologies, including AI/ML capabilities

Requirements

  • A minimum of 9 years of senior-level systems engineering and enterprise architecture experience
  • Demonstrated expertise across multiple IT domains
  • Track record of delivering complex federal IT modernization programs
  • Deep knowledge of cloud architecture (AWS, Azure)
  • Zero-trust security frameworks
  • NIST RMF
  • Federal IT acquisition processes
  • U.S. citizenship or Lawful Permanent Residents capable of obtaining TSA fitness determination
  • Ability to support after-hours cutovers and critical incident response in TSA’s 24x7x365 environment
  • Successful completion of a Public Trust background investigation and/or a Public Trust clearance
