About the role
- Configure, test, and maintain tax engines (Vertex, Avalara, Thomson Reuters) and ERP systems for client projects
- Automate tax processes and reporting workflows using data transformation tools and scripting solutions
- Validate and process client data for accuracy and compliance with tax regulations
- Work closely with customers to understand their needs, promote customer satisfaction, retention, and success
- Ensure clients are provided high-quality and timely communications on all service components and deliverables
- Review and analyze business process inputs, document variables and constraints, define prospective outcomes, and recommend solutions
- Process and troubleshoot customer workflows using data transformation tools
- Respond to client inquiries and provide support for tax engine functionality and process issues
- Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements
- Create, update, and enhance high-detail Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Provide break/fix resolution and ongoing tax solution maintenance to optimize efficiency and accuracy
- Mentor and guide junior analysts; provide training and feedback to enhance team performance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or related field required
- 2-3 year of professional experience; internship or related exposure
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); strong Excel and data modeling skills required
- In-depth knowledge of indirect tax lifecycle and exemption certificate processes
- Hands-on experience with tax engines (Vertex, Avalara, OneSource) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to manage client relationships effectively
- Ability to lead projects and mentor team members in a fast-paced environment
