About the role

  • Act as right-hand to the regional manager supporting daily operations, decision-making, and strategic initiatives
  • Lead and manage high-impact cross-functional strategic projects to drive growth, efficiency, and scalability
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners including acquirers, banks, regulators, and stakeholders
  • Analyze market dynamics, identify growth opportunities, and collaborate with Product, Operations, Finance, and Legal to execute country strategies
  • Support regional manager in managing key merchant relationships, identifying expansion opportunities, and ensuring service delivery
  • Identify and lead initiatives to improve merchant onboarding experience and reduce time-to-revenue
  • Drive merchant onboarding ensuring regulatory, compliance, and operational requirements are met according to local laws
  • Collaborate with Legal and Compliance for adherence to regulatory frameworks including licenses, tax, AML, and KYC
  • Work with Compliance to develop transaction monitoring and fraud prevention frameworks
  • Monitor tax regulations and coordinate with tax advisors for compliance and optimization
  • Analyze country performance metrics (TPV, revenue targets, budget execution, growth pipelines) and translate into business recommendations
  • Collaborate with Finance and FP&A to ensure budget accuracy and alignment with growth targets
  • Identify underperforming segments/countries and design turnaround strategies
  • Identify bottlenecks in merchant activation and accelerate time-to-market
  • Be regional owner for internal audit preparation and follow-ups
  • Develop and refine operational playbooks, frameworks, and best practices for scalability and standardization
  • Prepare business cases and recommendations for market entries, partnerships, and product launches
  • Participate in regulatory meetings and industry forums representing dLocal
  • Act as ambassador of dLocal’s culture and values internally and externally

Requirements

  • Background in finance with knowledge of industry trends and practices
  • Minimum of 6 years in operations management, strategy, or related role
  • Experience in Payments Industry, Fintechs, or Digital Banks
  • Familiarity with Legal, Finance, Product, and IT functions
  • Strong professional network and relationship-building skills
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale projects and deliver results
  • Strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable with change, self-starter, and able to work across time zones
  • Fluent in written and verbal English
  • Availability to travel
