About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collect past due accounts and help achieve the team’s monthly targets and objectives
  • Negotiate repayment terms for delinquent accounts or accounts experiencing contractual difficulties
  • Handle daily incoming and outgoing telephone calls and written correspondence with clients
  • Respond to general inquiries
  • Contact delinquent customers and apply standard collection techniques
  • Meet standard measurements for collection activity
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date paper and electronic customer files
  • Interact with dealers and cross-functional teams to resolve collection issues
  • Use existing technology to identify delinquent customer accounts
  • Provide buyout, payout and trade-up quotes to customers/vendors
  • Make decisions within established guidelines and policies
  • Reconcile accounts independently or at customers’ request; refer to the legal department when appropriate
  • Send letters, replacement invoices, and necessary correspondence
  • Provide Lease Administration with correct paperwork
  • Coordinate transferring files to or from the Legal Compliance Department
  • Prepare equipment-return paperwork and refer matters to Asset Management
  • Compile account summaries and recommendations for the Legal Compliance Department
  • Support the Collection Management team with cross-functional team training

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3-5 years of commercial late stage collections experience
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is an Asset
  • Experience in the leasing industry preferred
  • Proficient in MS – Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
  • Knowledge and understanding of collections operations: bailiff, resellers, fraud detection, PPSA, compliance, bankruptcy
  • Experience resolving and working through escalated and complex customer issues
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with ability to prioritize work effectively
  • Effective problem-solving, negotiation and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Solid team player
  • Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to work from home remotely/independently and in a virtual team environment
  • Successful completion of a background check
