About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborate with senior design staff to advance CFD skills for data center design and construction
  • Design a wide variety of projects through hands-on application
  • Work as part of the Engineering Team and interact closely with the Project Management Team
  • Produce construction documents
  • Develop and edit project specifications
  • Assist in the construction administration process
  • Participate in the full CFD analysis documentation process from initiation through validation
  • Coordinate with design teams to refine simulation objectives and establish simulation prerequisites and initial conditions
  • Identify challenges and recommend design-parameter or simulation-setup modifications
  • Coordinate design, project management, and client activities
  • Conduct technical client discussions, present simulation findings, interpret results, and provide CFD analysis insights
  • Validate CFD results using advanced analytical techniques
  • Review discrepancies and recommend solutions to improve simulation fidelity and project outcomes
  • Prepare project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Update and maintain shop drawing and RFI logs
  • Manage personal hours using company tools
  • Leverage AI-enabled and digital tools to improve efficiency and work quality
  • Complete assigned tasks and deliverables on time and on budget
  • May serve as trade lead on routine, limited-scope projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's degree in engineering
  • Three to five years’ experience in a consultancy setting
  • Knowledge of fluid mechanics principles, including boundary layers, laminar flows, and basic heat transfer
  • Knowledge of finite volume and finite element methods in CFD
  • Knowledge of primary turbulence models and their applications
  • Experience using CFD software and reviewing drawings with AutoCAD/Revit
  • Experience using data-center-specific CFD tools, especially Reality DC Design by Cadence or equivalent tools such as TileFlow, CoolSim, or Autodesk CFD
  • Experience using general CFD software such as Star CCM+ for steady-state and transient simulations
  • Experience in 3D modeling and preparing complex CAD for CFD modeling
  • JAVA or Python scripting skills and familiarity with Linux and HPC systems preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work successfully in a remote environment through effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness, and resourcefulness
  • Ability to interpret CFD results and communicate effectively in writing and verbally
  • Ability to follow company and site safety requirements
  • Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence
  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision and as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%, potentially to any or all 50 US states
