About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide support between new division partners and internal tax departments
  • Gather and analyze information from new division staff and the tax/payroll system to facilitate integration
  • Ensure the Payroll Tax department processes liability payments, tax returns, and notices timely and accurately
  • Complete assigned projects, including registration for bulk filing and ACH Credit
  • Participate in and lead projects to improve tax department processes and procedures
  • Track and provide project status updates, maintain project plans, and monitor project health
  • Ensure projects meet deadlines
  • Secure growth opportunities and initiate new projects
  • Optimize and improve processes and the overall approach where necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of three years of multi-state, multi-jurisdiction, and high-volume Payroll Tax experience
  • Minimum of one year of recent Senior, Lead, or Supervisor experience required
  • Hands-on tax return processing experience required
  • Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll and federal, state, and local wage laws required
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of payroll tax and federal, multi-state, and local tax regulations
  • Ability to read, understand, and analyze highly complex regulatory payroll tax information
  • Ability to interpret and analyze complex data, make determinations without immediate direction, and ensure payroll taxes are appropriately processed
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively and possess strong customer service skills
  • PEO or related industry experience preferred
  • MasterTax and Prism/HRP experience preferred
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification or Fundamentals of Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred
