About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Write and debug UniData BASIC across SaaS, mobile, and on-premise environments
  • Troubleshoot issues across every application tier
  • Support QA on quality and performance
  • Use AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development and understand a large codebase
  • Work in Agile teams
  • Lead R&D initiatives
  • Contribute to modernization work at the boundary between the MultiValue core and modern technology stacks
  • Collaborate with Support, Product, QA, and customers when needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Hands-on experience with UniData or another MultiValue platform
  • Experience with MultiValue BASIC
  • Practical experience with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code
  • Strong problem-solving and cross-tier troubleshooting skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Knowledge of unit testing and TDD
  • Helpful but not required: SB+ or 4GL, Java, Scala, JavaScript, REST services, or HR, payroll, or accounting background
  • Deep MultiValue experience in dialects such as UniVerse, D3, jBASE, or Pick is acceptable
  • Strong engineering skills and appetite for a rare specialization
