  • Thought leadership is a vital conduit between Digital Science and the academic market. As such, this role is a blend of strategic leadership, market engagement, and content delivery, to drive early engagement across key roles within the academic market.
  • You will be is responsible for driving our engagement with the global academic community so that we are able to deliver on our goals.
  • Academic Market Engagement
  • Act as a key liaison point, and leading voice, on issues relevant to the academic market, building and maintaining relationships with key opinion leaders, researchers, and academic institutions worldwide.
  • Represent the company at key academic conferences and events, delivering presentations and workshops that showcase our commitment to and understanding of the academic segment.
  • Deliver a continuous programme of content, highlighting key themes relevant to the academic market.
  • Serve as the internal "voice of the academic customer," providing insights that guide our go-to-market strategies.
  • Represent the voice of academia within the academic segment management team, providing a critical voice that advocates for the academic user.
  • Key relationships
  • Given that this role will provide a bridge between Academia and the Academic Segment
  • within Digital Science, we anticipate that this role will require strong relationships with:
  • EVP - Academic Markets
  • VP - Academic
  • VP, Marketing - Academic Segment
  • Marketing Segment Lead - Academic
  • PR
  • Digital Science Thought Leadership team
  • Others within the Academic management team

Requirements

  • Extensive years of experience in academia or an academic-adjacent field.
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership or management role, with a proven ability to mentor and develop a high-performing team of subject matter experts.
  • Deep understanding of the academic research lifecycle, from grant application, data collection and analysis to publication and collaboration.
  • Exceptional communication and public speaking skills, with a track record of presenting complex ideas to a diverse audience.
  • The ability to travel internationally for conferences will be essential.
