About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist the Senior Manager with overseeing Fund and Joint Venture (JV) accounting, month end close and reporting functions.
Prepare routine and non-routine journal entries, including interest, management fee, capital contribution and distribution etc.
Prepare account reconciliations and analysis identifying potential issues and providing resolutions.
Prepare month end, quarter end and year-end income statement reports and flux analysis for assigned portfolios.
Prepare and analyze JV/Fund financial statements.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting packages.
Act as a key liaison with Asset Management, FP&A, Legal and external partners.
Assist with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end.
Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
Create SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for existing and new processes.
Perform technical accounting research and translating accounting literature into actionable solutions.
Perform ad hoc projects as needed.

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with exposure to JV, real estate, or private equity structures.
BS in Accounting or Finance.
CPA required, or actively pursuing (strongly preferred).
Strong working knowledge of US GAAP.
Experience with international real estate investments and currency translation a plus.
Solid knowledge of financial applications, concepts, and theories.
Demonstrated proficiency in journal entry preparation, account reconciliation and analysis.
Demonstrated aptitude with ERP systems; experience with Yardi is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
Advanced Excel knowledge is a must.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent workstreams across complex JV and fund structures.
