About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Tier 1 Help Desk for US Army North
- Primary escalation engineer for VMware, ESXI and vSphere issues
- Experience with VMWare STIGS in a DOD environment
- Configuration of Certificate based logons (CAC)
- Install and configure new applications including web servers, OS, and infrastructure components
- Work on desktop deployments, imaging, troubleshooting and account creations
- Create and manage data backup on external hard drives
- Develop recovery programs for natural or man-made disasters
- Improve server performance by tracking and solving user issues
- Assist with restorations, application installation, testing, Tier 2 and Tier 3 support
- Analyze and fix performance issues related to networking and OS and provide application upgrades
- Configuration management, monitoring, and maintenance of all hosted servers
- Provide technical solutions to difficult problems
- Support surge requirements of 24/7 during key exercises or real-world events
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active Secret clearance
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification
- VMware System Administration (vSphere 7.X, vCenter, vCOPS, SRM)
- Over 5 years of experience with VMware Virtualization Technology
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Ability to work unsupervised and as a member of a team
