Director

• Be a collaborative and ambitious leader and expert in Quantum and photonics across Digital Catapult.
• Direct and enable a high quality programme of research and development in Quantum and photonics, securing funding via R&D projects and supporting commercial opportunities.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including innovators, startups and scaleups, government, academic institutions, industry partners, building a productive network in support of our research ambitions and goals. Represent Digital Catapult at industry events, conferences, and public engagements.
• Be part of the Technology Research, Development and Innovation leadership team, overseeing the execution and evaluation of activities in programmes, projects and technology exploitation
• Lead and mentor a diverse team, coach and guide immediate reports, and the Quantum, photonics and related team members across the wider organisation, building capability in Quantum and photonics
• Supervise and deliver horizon scanning, developing the technology roadmap and plans in Quantum, photonics and related areas, supporting other teams to enable their areas to be similarly well defined in relation to Quantum and photonics.

Director of Technology – Quantum

Communications

• Manage end-to-end marketing planning and campaign delivery.
• Lead marketing activities for events to reach key audiences and manage events in-person and/or online on the day, including large scale showcase events and demo days.
• Manage content delivery – draft written content, manage production of video content, and produce digital content to support programme delivery.
• Build successful working collaborations with internal teams and a range of external partners.
• Support our UK Digital Twin Centre Community Manager to ensure content is on brand and aligned to programme, and wider Digital Catapult, messaging.
• Work with senior leaders in Northern Ireland to provide advice and input into programme deliverables and ensure marketing and communications activities remain on schedule and aligned to KPIs.

Marketing & Communications Manager

Events

• Work collaboratively with the Bridge/Frontier programme team to define, create and produce a portfolio of events to meet our strategic objectives and come up with suggestions to enhance events success
• Manage events execution for Bridge/Frontier, ensuring that event content and agenda meet the objectives and logistics run seamlessly and resolve any issues arising to ensure high customer satisfaction and/or escalate in a timely manner to the Head of Events (if needed)
• Coordinate the day-to-day running of events across the programme, including but not limited to room setup, managing delegate registrations, speakers’ management, catering, overlooking audio-visual delivery, event visuals and materials, client relations, delegates’ engagement and feedback and impact capture and measurement
• Ensure that hosted or co-hosted events are relevant to the Bridge/Frontier programme at Digital Catapult, making sure they meet the requirements, target audience, objectives and add value
• Handle catering orders and budget, additional staffing rotas, roles and responsibilities on the day of the managed event and coordinate work of various event suppliers (if required)

Events Manager

Analyst

• Support the Senior Business Analyst in developing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models to create robust business cases for private 5G adoption in the UK.
• Contribute to the design of a Technology Outcomes Framework to capture evidence on the technical performance and socio-economic value of private 5G networks.
• Produce rigorous, comparable, and auditable analysis of technical performance indicators (KPIs) to support investment and adoption decisions.
• Conduct economic and sensitivity analysis to identify the conditions under which private 5G adoption delivers the greatest value.
• Undertake competitor analysis of alternative technologies, including Wi-Fi and other connectivity solutions, assessing their relative strengths and limitations.
• Identify and assess key benefit categories associated with adoption, including sustainability and wider economic impacts.
• Engage with stakeholders through workshops, playback sessions, and other feedback mechanisms to validate findings and refine analysis.
• Support the production of a final report outlining the adoption value of private 5G networks for key stakeholders including Innovate UK, UK Government, regulators, and the wider private 5G ecosystem.
