About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Install, debug, and provide technical maintenance for product and component hardware and software, mainly on customer premises
  • Perform scheduled inspections, cleaning, minor product repairs, and preventive maintenance within an assigned territory
  • Inspect products for correct operation and resolve or escalate issues according to established procedures
  • Schedule services, complete required paperwork, and work with customers to ensure service satisfaction and product understanding
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software failures using diagnostic tools
  • Perform component-level hardware repairs and clean and adjust mechanical components
  • Configure and install applicable software
  • Install, move, add, change, and remove hardware and software products
  • Instruct and train customers on installed hardware and software usage
  • Participate in hardware and software training, KPI initiatives, and special projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Education or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, in Field Services
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Driver's license and driving record satisfying DN's fleet requirements
  • PC literacy and knowledge and application of relevant tools and methods
  • Product knowledge of the relevant industry and basic ITIL skills preferred
  • Ability to attend multiple paid training classes in Canton, Ohio for 1–2 weeks
  • Ability to lift and move heavy loads, stand most of the day, climb, bend, and stoop while working on equipment
  • Acceptance of exposure to outside elements
  • Shift adaptability, including an on-call rotation for evenings and weekends
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to organize and inventory truck stock parts and tools
  • Sense of urgency, organizational skills, professional presence, and ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to pass MVR, background, and drug tests where required
  • Firstline Service Technician work experience preferred
  • Vocational/Trade School preferred
