About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist in preparing and analytically reviewing the agency budget, identifying historical trends for future projections
Support contract renewal packages, including amendments and budget modifications
Perform data modeling and trend analysis for operating and strategic plans, monthly forecasts, and quarterly forecasts
Analyze and optimize financial models, worksheets, and databases for tracking and reporting
Provide financial support and preliminary data analysis for specialized agency projects
Produce monthly budget monitoring reports and investigate and explain budget-to-actual variances
Prepare and publish monthly operating management reports highlighting key financial trends
Assist with financial statements and periodic and year-end contract-based cost reports
Conduct financial reporting, prepare supporting schedules, and perform ad-hoc data analysis for strategic decision-making
Conduct monthly expense monitoring, identifying anomalies, cost-saving opportunities, and budget overages
Perform other related analytical and operational duties as requested

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
0–3 years of relevant experience required
Foundational understanding of accounting principles and practices
Familiarity with, willingness to learn, and/or ability to create or draw insights from reports and dashboards using tools equivalent to Power BI highly desirable
Basic knowledge of budget development, budget management, cost projections, and reporting requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word
Ability to assist in preparing high-quality presentations for executive and leadership audiences
Ability to build relationships and consensus internally and externally
Ability to present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly verbally and in writing
Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
Commitment to team objectives and Didi Hirsch philosophies
Ability to adapt to changing needs by acquiring new skills and knowledge
