About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in preparing and analytically reviewing the agency budget, identifying historical trends for future projections
  • Support contract renewal packages, including amendments and budget modifications
  • Perform data modeling and trend analysis for operating and strategic plans, monthly forecasts, and quarterly forecasts
  • Analyze and optimize financial models, worksheets, and databases for tracking and reporting
  • Provide financial support and preliminary data analysis for specialized agency projects
  • Produce monthly budget monitoring reports and investigate and explain budget-to-actual variances
  • Prepare and publish monthly operating management reports highlighting key financial trends
  • Assist with financial statements and periodic and year-end contract-based cost reports
  • Conduct financial reporting, prepare supporting schedules, and perform ad-hoc data analysis for strategic decision-making
  • Conduct monthly expense monitoring, identifying anomalies, cost-saving opportunities, and budget overages
  • Perform other related analytical and operational duties as requested

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience required
  • Foundational understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Familiarity with, willingness to learn, and/or ability to create or draw insights from reports and dashboards using tools equivalent to Power BI highly desirable
  • Basic knowledge of budget development, budget management, cost projections, and reporting requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word
  • Ability to assist in preparing high-quality presentations for executive and leadership audiences
  • Ability to build relationships and consensus internally and externally
  • Ability to present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly verbally and in writing
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
  • Commitment to team objectives and Didi Hirsch philosophies
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs by acquiring new skills and knowledge
