About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Director in the mission of the Norman M. Eberly Multilingual Writing Center
- Support the PACT program
- Conduct research on current best practices to guide and develop tutor training protocols
- Manage and supervise the new MWC tutor-led undergraduate journal in writing
- Coordinate new community tutoring initiatives, including a satellite tutoring program at the Army War College
- Plan, develop, and publish the Fellow’s own research on the Dickinson MWC with support from the Director
- Conduct intake meetings for Dickinson students requesting PACT support and connect students with MWC tutors
- Coordinate fall interviews for first-year students applying to work as MWC tutors
- Assist the Department Coordinator in correcting Workday timesheets
- Assist the Director with tutor training initiatives, including staff meetings, Badge trainings, and a mentorship program
- Meet bi-weekly with Student Assistant Coordinators to coordinate MWC social media and outreach campaigns
- Oversee editorial decisions of the MWC undergraduate writing journal
- Coordinate writing tutoring for International Fellows at the Army War College and community-based outreach with the CCLA
- Plan and develop one peer-reviewed article for WLN, WCJ, Praxis, or an equivalent field-specific journal
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum work experience: less than 12 months
- Work is closely monitored by a supervisor/manager, with detailed instructions and procedures generally provided
- Ability to work in an office environment
- Satisfactory completion of a background check, which may include criminal, reference, work-history, and academic-credential verification
