About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide media coverage for all programs in the athletic department
  • Oversee athletics social media accounts and create content for athletics programs
  • Update and manage the athletics website, including stories, team, roster, department, and staff pages
  • Provide logistical and operational game-day support
  • Produce recaps of intercollegiate contests and athletics-related special events for the website and social media
  • Provide event coverage for all home contests
  • Oversee select professional and student staffing
  • Recruit and mentor students assisting with game-day responsibilities
  • Work directly with coaches and teams to implement social media and content strategies
  • Produce multimedia content for all 25 intercollegiate athletic programs
  • Coordinate live streaming of all home athletic contests
  • Serve as liaison to the Red Devil Sports Network (RDSN)
  • Lead recruitment and management of RDSN students supporting live broadcasting and media production
  • Hire and manage professional photographers and media freelancers as needed
  • Manage student and professional staffing for game-day roles
  • Educate department staff on acceptable content and branding-consistent information
  • Create content and assist with operations and logistics for special events such as Hall of Fame, end-of-year celebrations, and media day
  • Work with the Director of Athletic Communications to regularly update and refresh the athletics website

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1–3 years of work experience
  • Valid driver's license required to operate a company-owned, rented, or leased vehicle
  • Master's Degree preferred
