Platform Engineer

• Joining a team of experienced engineers focused on evolving our core data platform, with responsibilities ranging from deprecating legacy systems to designing and building next-generation platform capabilities.
• Working with Engineering Managers and Software Engineers to support the formulation and implementation of a data platform strategy.
• Taking ownership of end-to-end platform initiatives—from scoping and architecture to implementation and rollout—delivering scalable and maintainable systems that empower data consumers across the org.
• Helping drive the technical maturity of the platform team by introducing engineering best practices, fostering reusability, and actively breaking down silos to promote shared ownership and collaboration.
• Working closely with the Product Manager for the Data Platform team, along with Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Analysts, and Data Scientists, to ensure our platform solutions are robust, efficient, and future-ready.

• Architecting and developing complex, high-load backend systems written in Elixir.
• Leading technical discussions with Product Managers, Engineers, and Designers to turn vague requirements into robust technical specifications.
• Mentoring mid-level and junior engineers, conducting code reviews, and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
• Proactively identifying bottlenecks in our ticketing and event management systems and designing scalable solutions to handle traffic spikes.
• Championing best practices in testing, documentation, and maintainability across the engineering organisation.
