Senior Electrical Engineer
DIALOGSenior Electrical Engineer leading the design and delivery of integrated electrical systems. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure innovative and high-quality solutions across projects.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead electrical design for building systems including power, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, security, and communications systems
- Collaborate with architects, interior designers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and sustainable design solutions
- Prepare and review reports, calculations, and technical specifications for electrical systems and equipment
- Manage project deliverables, including oversight of BIM model development, schedules, milestones, and resource allocation
- Provide design leadership and support during contract administration and construction phases
- Ensure project schedules, budgets, and quality standards are achieved
- Apply national and local codes and standards to ensure compliant, efficient designs
- Participate in all phases of projects from concept through construction completion
- Mentor and guide junior and intermediate team members
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (P.Eng required or strongly preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in consulting engineering (healthcare, commercial, institutional, retail)
- Ability to obtain Government of Canada Security Clearance
- Strong experience leading projects across all design phases and contract administration
- Deep knowledge of building systems: power distribution, fire protection, lighting, IMIT/communications systems
- Strong understanding of applicable codes and standards (CSA, NEC/CEC, ULC, TIA, etc.)
- Proven project management and leadership skills
- Experience with BIM/Revit (preferred)
- Collaborative, proactive, and solution-oriented
- Ability to manage deadlines, budgets, and multidisciplinary coordination
- LEED accreditation is an asset
