About the role

  • We support children and adolescents who cannot live with their families, providing long-term, caring support in a family-like environment
  • In the small group of only seven children and adolescents, intensive support and development is possible
  • We work with the children and adolescents to develop new perspectives, strengthen their resources and enable new coping strategies
  • We celebrate together, do projects in our workshop, let off steam in our movement room, and take part in experiential education excursions

Requirements

  • You have completed training as an educator (Erzieher) or a curative-education nurse (Heilerziehungspfleger) with state recognition, or hold a degree in Social Work / Social Pedagogy / Special Education with state recognition, or have an equivalent qualification
  • You hold a Class B driving licence (car)
  • You are open, warm and have a sense of humor, and you enjoy sharing everyday family life with the children with fun and enthusiasm
  • You quickly build rapport with children, even when they are reserved or withdrawn at first
  • You remain calm under pressure, even when the children challenge you
  • You place as much value on good teamwork as we do (for example, duty rosters are agreed jointly)
  • You share the Christian values upheld by our diaconal organisation
