About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the creation of journey maps, service blueprints, ecosystem maps, and experience frameworks that clarify user needs, pain points, and opportunities across the Omnipod product lifecycle.
  • Lead early-stage user experience research initiatives for mobile apps, ensuring creation of cohesive experiences spanning app, connected devices, packaging, and support ecosystems.
  • Present user experience product vision clearly and persuasively to stakeholders at all levels, from agile development teams to executive leadership, using storyboards, prototypes, journey narratives, and interactive presentations.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams ensuring alignment on user experience flows, branding, and experience requirements across platforms and devices.
  • Lead collaborations with internal User Research partners to plan and interpret iterative testing, ensuring concepts are validated early and often.
  • Gather and synthesize insights from diverse stakeholders, including internal users (e.g., customer service, sales, training teams), healthcare providers, and people living with diabetes, to inform design decisions.
  • Apply user‑centered design best practices and proactively advocate for research‑driven decisions.
  • Guide the design of safe, effective, and delightful experiences using industry‑standard tools (Figma, Framer, Keyshot, Adobe Suite, Rhino, etc.), delivering product wireframes, prototypes, visual assets, and design specifications.
  • Deliver measurable user experience KPIs to ensure design decisions are grounded in data, aligned with business goals, and tied to meaningful outcomes for users and clinicians.
  • Champion a customer-first mindset, advocate for UX excellence, and help define success metrics and outcomes in cross-functional forums and design reviews.
  • Advocate for user‑centered thinking, experience quality, and the strategic value of design in shaping the future of diabetes care.
  • Mentor and support other designers through informal coaching, design critiques, and shared knowledge-building.
  • Support ongoing improvement of team processes, tools, and collaboration practices, contributing to a strong UX culture.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or Master’s (Product Design, Industrial Design, HCI, Interaction Design, or Graphic Design required)
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in healthcare focusing on developing early-stage concepts into customer centric products
  • Strong portfolio required, showcasing design thinking, storytelling ability, and polished execution.
  • Deep knowledge of User Research tools and methodologies and ability to work with researchers to drive research goals and objectives to drive user centered design approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to create user flows and prototype.
  • Must have experience designing for mobile and responsive platforms.
  • Agency experience is required.
  • Experience with diabetes is a plus.
  • US travel as needed (at least once per quarter).
