About the role
- Lead the development and execution of a multi-year UX strategy aligned with Insulet’s business objectives and user needs
- Partner with franchise leadership, marketing, product, and engineering to embed UX into strategic planning and product development lifecycles
- Create customer-centric frameworks and weave UX mindsets into operating mechanisms across organizations
- Design and establish scalable design systems, inclusive design practices, and robust research methodologies globally
- Establish a unified design language that supports consistency across digital touchpoints and regional markets
- Define and monitor UX Objectives and Key Results, KPIs, and establish a UX measurement framework linking design outcomes to business metrics
- Implement real-time analytics and feedback loops to assess user behavior, sentiment, and engagement
- Represent UX at the senior leadership level and translate user insights into business narratives to drive alignment and investment
- Mentor and grow a high-performing team of UX leaders and practitioners; implement structured career development plans
- Ensure UX initiatives meet regulatory requirements and internal governance standards by partnering with Regulatory Affairs, Legal, and Quality
Requirements
- Deep expertise in Cognitive Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Design, or related field (e.g., Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree)
- 15+ years of progressive UX leadership experience, including strategic oversight of multi-platform ecosystems
- Proven success in regulated industries, preferably medical devices or healthcare technology
- Demonstrated ability to lead global initiatives and influence cross-functional teams at the executive level
- Expertise in design systems, user research, content strategy, and accessibility
- Executive presence with strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Strategic foresight and ability to anticipate market trends and user needs
- Deep understanding of mobile, web, and platform-specific design heuristics
- Strong judgment and prioritization in complex, fast-paced environments
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards such as FDA, ISO, and GDPR
- Experience defining and monitoring UX Objectives and Key Results and UX measurement frameworks
- Location: hybrid based in San Diego, CA or Acton, MA with up to 3 days/week in-office presence

- US base salary range for this full-time position is $236,175.00 - $354,262.50 (base only).
