About the role
- Analyze and process leave of absence requests including FMLA, ADA, parental leave, personal leave, and other statutory and company-sponsored leaves
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws and regulations
- Support global leave administration by collaborating with regional HR teams and understanding country-specific leave entitlements
- Coordinate with internal benefits teams and external providers to align leave with short-term disability (STD), long-term disability (LTD), workers’ compensation, and paid family leave programs
- Liaise with state agencies to facilitate claims and ensure proper documentation and benefit alignment
- Educate employees on how state and company benefits interact during leave periods
- Serve as a contact for Leave of Absence vendors and third-party administrators
- Provide clear, compassionate guidance to employees and managers throughout the leave process
- Facilitate return-to-work planning and ADA accommodations in partnership with HR and legal teams
- Maintain accurate leave records in HRIS and case management systems
- Generate reports and analyze leave trends to support HR strategy and compliance audits
- Stay current on changes in leave laws and recommend policy updates as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of experience in leave of absence administration
- Strong knowledge of U.S. leave laws and benefit coordination
- Experience working with state leave programs and coordinating benefits across multiple jurisdictions
- Experience with HRIS Workday Platform
- Strong Microsoft excel skills
- Exposure to global leave practices and the ability to navigate international leave policies
- Experience partnering with third-party LOA vendors and benefit providers
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and sensitivity
