About the role

  • Analyze and process leave of absence requests including FMLA, ADA, parental leave, personal leave, and other statutory and company-sponsored leaves
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws and regulations
  • Support global leave administration by collaborating with regional HR teams and understanding country-specific leave entitlements
  • Coordinate with internal benefits teams and external providers to align leave with short-term disability (STD), long-term disability (LTD), workers’ compensation, and paid family leave programs
  • Liaise with state agencies to facilitate claims and ensure proper documentation and benefit alignment
  • Educate employees on how state and company benefits interact during leave periods
  • Serve as a contact for Leave of Absence vendors and third-party administrators
  • Provide clear, compassionate guidance to employees and managers throughout the leave process
  • Facilitate return-to-work planning and ADA accommodations in partnership with HR and legal teams
  • Maintain accurate leave records in HRIS and case management systems
  • Generate reports and analyze leave trends to support HR strategy and compliance audits
  • Stay current on changes in leave laws and recommend policy updates as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of experience in leave of absence administration
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. leave laws and benefit coordination
  • Experience working with state leave programs and coordinating benefits across multiple jurisdictions
  • Experience with HRIS Workday Platform
  • Strong Microsoft excel skills
  • Exposure to global leave practices and the ability to navigate international leave policies
  • Experience partnering with third-party LOA vendors and benefit providers
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and sensitivity
